Family and Group Therapy

Family counselling is a form of treatment that is designed to address specific issues affecting the health and functioning of a family. It can be used to help a family through a difficult period of time, a major transition, or mental or behavioural health problems in family members. Emotional problems in children are a common reason to visit me as a child’s problems do not exist in a vacuum; they exist in the context of the family and will likely need to be addressed within the context of the family. The types of familial issues I have experience in counselling include:

Child and adolescent behavioral problems
Autism
Grieving
Depression and anxiety
Domestic violence
Infertility
Marital conflicts
Addiction related problems

My approach to family counselling is flexible and sessions may vary on meeting with families together and/or with individual family members depending on the therapuetic plan we develop.
